Audrey V. Morvant

Audrey Vidonne Morvant passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at home surrounded by her devoted and loving family on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Daughter of the late Wilbur and Cora Martin Vidonne. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Joseph “CJ” Morvant for 63 years. Proud mother of Chris Morvant (Marilyn) and Lynn Alello (Tony) and doting grandmother of Mitchel Arbaugh (Liz), Ryan Morvant, Kristen Morvant Cherry (Danny), and Garrett Alello. Adoring GG (great-grandmother) to Luke Arbaugh, Clare Arbaugh, and Benjamin Cherry. Sister of the late Sylvia Vidonne Talamo (the late Gus). Sister-in-law to Anthony Morvant (Brenda), Terry Morvant (the late Greta), and Janis Rogers (Roy). Beloved by many nieces and nephews. She grew up in Gretna having fond memories of her childhood there and graduated from West Jefferson High School. She was a resident of Harvey, LA for 66 years. She worked at Dunn and Bradstreet until starting a family at which point she became the consummate homemaker. She maintained an immaculate household while mastering the art of crocheting by producing exquisite, handmade afghans, baby blankets, and many other treasured heirlooms. She used the most invaluable ingredients in her cooking and baking: her heart and soul. There wasn’t one item that ever came out of her kitchen that family and friends did not thoroughly enjoy and as a result, crave. She delighted in dancing with CJ as they fascinated onlookers with their Cajun dancing skills. She enjoyed shopping for and wearing the perfect outfit with matching shoes, earrings, and purse to wear to church, the Marrero/Harvey Senior Center bingo and birthday parties, and casinos. She took pride in her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to assist them by providing home cooked meals, doing chores, and babysitting. She marveled at the growth of her great grandchildren as they progressed in years. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to family and friends who assisted in the care journey as well as the staff of Heart of Hospice for their superior, comforting care, especially Melinda, Tanika, and Dr. Joplin. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1:30 PM. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until Mass time.
