Arnaldo “AL” Ortiz passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He is survived by his children; Anna Boesch(Jimmy), Arnaldo Ortiz Jr. (Cheryl), Leo Ortiz (Celie), Michael Ortiz (Karen), Tina Verret (Scott), April Cochran (Richie), his 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his brother, Antonio Ortiz Jr., and his sister, Angeles Desoto (Xavier). He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio Ortiz and Ana Julia Ortiz, ten siblings, His loving wife Linda Ortiz and his granddaughter Jessica Ortiz. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and family members. Arnaldo “Al” was born in San Just, Puerto Rico on August 27, 1940. He moved to the New Orleans area in 1950 and has been a long time resident since then. Arnaldo “AL” proudly served his community for 32 years as a Fire Captain at Avondale Fire Company. He had countless joys in life, including watching baseball, playing dominos and most importantly spending time with his family. AL was a loyal and honorable man who would do anything for his family. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd Marrero, LA on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11am. Family visitation will be held from 8AM-9AM. Family and friends visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM. The burial will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery, 3540 Hwy 90 Avondale, LA 70094.
