Anthony “Tony” Scairono, Jr., of Harvey, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Myrl Kass Scairono; his brother, Eugene “Gene”; his sister, Shirley “Te” Keller; sister-in-law, Merle Scairono and brother-in-law, Herb Keller. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 ½ years, Patricia Kleinpeter Scairono; devoted son, Anthony Joseph Scairono (Jenna) and proud grandfather of Gianna Rose Scairono and Anthony Joseph Scairono, Jr. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara K. Tschirn (Stephen) and his brother-in-law, Joseph Kleinpeter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his good friend, Mike Barbier.
Tony grew up in McDonoghville (Gretna) and raised his family in Harvey. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, watching Broadway plays, and was an avid reader of U.S. military history.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his loving memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Louisiana Chapter, 3636 S. Sherwood Forest Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Kim Keller, who cared for Tony for the past four years, Mrs. Victoria Lofton, and ACG Hospice for their care and compassion during this past year.
