Anthony Matthew Petrovich

Anthony Matthew Petrovich entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Frances Morovich Petrovich. Father of Vinca P. Oubre (Brian), Thomas Troy Petrovich (Chantelle), and the late Stephen Anthony Petrovich. Grandfather of Jonathan Oubre and Stephanie Oubre. Step-grandfather of Amanda Price (Alex) and Dennis McInerney. Son of the late Vicenza “ Vinca”  Farac Petrovich and Troje “Troy” Petrovich. Brother of the late Troy “Rudy” Petrovich (Gail). Brother-in-law of the late Tom Morovich (Carolann). Uncle of Troy Petrovich Jr (Karla), Tory Petrovich (Marcie), Cheryl Morovich, and Tom Morovich, Jr.

Anthony was a graduate of Holy Cross High School class of 1953.  He was a U.S. Army veteran. Anthony played baseball  professionally in the minor leagues with the Chicago Cubs organization. He was an avid fan of LSU, the Saints and the Pelicans. He was a longtime owner of Petrovich Hardware in Empire, LA  Anthony was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, LA and member of the Croatian Benevolent Association.  He was proud and supportive of his family’s Croatian heritage.

Age 90, a native of Empire, LA and resident of Luling, LA for the past 20 years.  Most recently, a resident of Summerhouse Ashton Manor Assisted Living in Luling, LA where he received the best care from the nurses, caretakers, and staff. He will be deeply missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Second Harvest Food Bank or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 11 AM. Interment Nairn Cemetery, Nairn, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time.
