Anne Michele Wingfield

Anne Michele Wingfield, age 46, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on August 30, 2026. She was born September 5, 1979 in Marrero to Darlene and William Wingfield. She graduated from Immaculata High School and received her bachelor’s degree in history from Loyola University in New Orleans. While at Loyola Anne was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority where she made life-long friends and had some of the happiest times. She loved Gamma Phi so much that she volunteered as an alumnus to help guide the chapter. Anne was a staffer for then U. S. Representative Bobby Jindal in Washington, DC. Her favorite job was being an event planner for the development office at Tulane University. Anne had a deep love for dogs, and she worked for a time at the SPCA. Her childhood dog Minnie, a cocker spaniel, brought much joy to her life over the years. In adulthood, her maltipoo Gilbert was her constant companion.

Anne was preceded in death by her grandparents Lawrence and Marie Hernandez and Madeline and Leo Wingfield as well as her father William L. Wingfield, uncle Leo Wingfield, Jr. and aunt Gail Hernandez. She is survived by her mother Darlene H. Wingfield, her brother William S. Wingfield (Angela), her nephew William “Spencer” Wingfield II, and her niece Claire B. Wingfield as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on what would have been her 47th birthday, September 5, 2026 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey LA 70058. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Mass at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org).
