Anise Terrebonne Dannewitz Hendon

Anise Terrebonne Dannewitz Hendon, affectionately known as "Mi Mi", passed away peacefully at her home in Harvey, LA on April 7, 2026 at age 85.

She was born on January 17, 1941 in Golden Meadow, LA to parents Morris J. Terrebonne and Oralee Cheramie Terrebonne. 

She is survived by her children, Keith R. Dannewitz, II (Christie), Kurt R. Dannewitz (Michele Grasso), Katherine Dannewitz Turnley (Carl), stepdaughter Johnnie Lea Hendon Westerhaus (Dave), her granddaughter Drew Dannewitz, her two grandsons Jonah and Aiden Dannewitz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above, her brothers Morris J. Terrebonne, Jr. (Ann), Raymond J. Terrebonne (Dora), her sisters Ella Mae "Sis" Plaisance (O'Neal), Geraldine Lafont (Darwin), and Jeanette Tharp (Richard).

She was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her three children Keith R. Dannewitz, and beloved second husband of 43 years Johnny W. Hendon.

Anise had many friends and enjoyed many hobbies including painting, sewing, playing tennis and attending oilfield events over the years, and working on puzzles and gardening later in life. She also enjoyed many wonderful years of swimming and entertaining friends and family in her pool and game room.   

She was always full of life and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

There will be a small graveside service at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA 70056, on Saturday June 13th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. for immediate family. It will be followed at 12:00 p.m. by a celebration of her life for friends and family at Cafe Hope located inside the Timberlane Country Club, 700 Lapalco Blvd., Gretna, LA 70056. Mothe funeral home was honored to handle the burial arrangements.
