Angelo Anthony Brocato, passed away at his home in Kenner, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, Carmela Manzella Brocato; children, Toni T. Serpas (John), Dino A. Tedesco; step-son, Thomas A. Arbon (Sandra); brothers Louis “Luigi” Brocato and Salvador Brocato Jr. Grandfather of Jeffrey V. Serpas (Monique), Michael J. Arbon, and the late Thomas Arbon Jr. Great-grandfather of Lucas and Alexander Serpas, Thomas A. Arbon III and Cooper Arbon. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador “Scorchie” Brocato and Maria Nuccio Pizzalato; sister, Manuella “Penny” Grego and brother, Steve Pizzalato.
Angelo was a native of New Orleans and resided in Kenner. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later, worked as an auto mechanic. While in the military, he boxed and earned a lightweight title in 1958. He was also a prominent amateur boxer in New Orleans.
He was a man who never took life too seriously and was always a good friend to many. He will be missed.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and nurses of Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion. They truly were the angels surrounding him during his final days.

Visitation will be held at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 10am until 12noon. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Lakelawn Mausoleum.
