Angela Ancar Sylve

Angela Ancar Sylve, born on August 23, 1964, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. Angela’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Angela was the cherished daughter of Mary Ancar and the late Claude Ancar. Family was always at the center of Angela's life. She was a devoted mother to Natasha Minor and Henry Baker, Jr., whose lives she touched with profound love and a nurturing spirit. Angela’s legacy extends lovingly to her grandchildren—Alexis Torregno, A'niyah Treyon Baker, Henry Charles Baker III, Jadon Minor, and Kellen Minor—and her great-grandchild, Alex Carlos Andrews. Angela’s siblings, Paula Ancar Lacombe, Kimberly Magee, and Tina Ancar, remember her not just as a sister, but as a true friend and confidante who filled their lives with laughter and comfort. Angela also held in loving memory her late grandson, Alex Lowell Baker.

Angela’s personality was defined by her generosity and boundless love. She adored simply being surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter, and light-hearted moments. Angela was known for her selflessness and unwavering patience—traits that made her a source of strength and kindness within her community. Those closest to her cannot recall a time when she expressed anger; instead, she offered compassion and support, always willing to give whatever she had to help others.

To honor and remember Angela Ancar Sylve, visitation will be held at St Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA 70053, on July 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Mass will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 PM.
