Ana Gloria Mayen Rivera passed away peacefully on Friday, April 07, 2023 at the age of 61, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born in Puerto de Acajutla, El Salvador. In 1984, Gloria along with her daughter, Claudia, obtained their residency visa to join her spouse in New Orleans. Gloria worked as a housekeeper for thirty-two years in New Orleans. Gloria loved to dance to Cumbia music, getting pictures taken of her, cook her famous Salvadoran pupusas and tamales, the beach, eating seafood, and having fun with friends and family. Her favorite holidays were Mardi Gras and Christmas. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. She was the life of the party. Gloria was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her spouse of 46 years, Mr. Carlos Francisco Rivera Osorio, her daughter, Claudia Rivera-Rossell (Edgar Raul Rossell), son, Roberto Rivera, sisters (Reina, Ruth, Elena, Esther, Yudith, America (Marvin Garcia), and Marina (Lorenzo Lopez), brothers (Victor and Angel Mayen), sister-in-law, Rosa Emilia Rivera and Carmela Lopez, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Victoriano Mayen, Graciela Martinez de Mayen, brother, Armando Mayen, father-in-law, Francisco Javier Rivera Cordova, and mother-in-law, Maria del Rosario Osorio de Rivera. The Rivera family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Passages Hospice team (Danielle, Angel, Starr, Brittney, Anthony, and Lynette). The family would also like to thank America and Marina Mayen for their assistance in her care. We are grateful for all the kind words of encouragement, support, prayers, and compassion expressed to Gloria during this difficult time. We would like to also thank Edgar Sr., Carolina, Carlos (Rebecca), and Jonathan Rossell. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening April 13, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Friday morning, April 14, 2023 from 9:00 am-10:00 am.
