On Friday, May 19, 2017 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Albert Jules “Boogie” Ledet, Jr. with the wind beneath his wings took his final flight and entered his Heavenly Home to live with his Lord and Savoir. Born on August 27, 1933 on Delta Farms in Larose, LA, he grew up in Westwego and was a former resident of Terrytown and current resident of Marrero, Louisiana. Leaving to cherish his memory, who he met when they were both just 14, is his High School Sweetheart, Soul mate and Beloved wife of 64 ½ years, Vera Pichoff Ledet. He is survived by his four children, Nanette Christine Ledet, Albert Jules Ledet, III (Wife Jennifer), Dr. Suzanne Marie Ledet-Yuspeh and Lt. Col. United States Air Force Reserve (Retired) Stuart Charles Ledet (Wife Julie); three grandchildren, all of whom he loved very dearly, Brooke Yuspeh, Kenneth and Michelle Ledet. He is also survived by his sister, Hazel Uzee and brother Roland Ledet (Wife Billie) as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by his parents, Lenore Adams and Albert Ledet, Sr.; his sister, Beverly Ledet; his brother, Harris Ledet (Wife Joan); son-in-law, Dr. Robert Yuspeh, Jr. and his brother-in-law, Robert Uzee. Mr. Ledet worked in the Oil Industry for over 40 years and was employed at ODECO (Ocean Drilling and Exploration Corporation) and CNG (Consolidated Natural Gas) Producing Companies. His best times were spent with his family and friends. He loved to fish, bowl and dance. He had a lifelong passion for airplanes and flying, which he passed on to his sons, both of whom became pilots. He was a Korean War Veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Purchasing Managers Association and a member of AFA (Air Force Association). He was a lifetime member in the Knights of Columbus, Archbishop Blenk Council 1905 and the very Rev. T.J. Larkin Assembly and a current member of the Belle Terre Golden Ages Club. The family of Mr. Ledet would like to give a sincere appreciation and special “Thanks” to the doctors, nurses, Respiratory Therapists and other staff on the 7th Floor of the Critical Care Neuroscience ICU at Ochsner Foundation Hospital for your many acts of kindness which will never be forgotten because of the excellent care you gave each and every day of his stay. In lieu of flowers, please consider Masses or donations may be made to a Charity of your choice in memory of Albert. Pallbearers will be his two sons, Albert and Stuart Ledet, Grandson, Kenneth Ledet, Carlton Ledet, Al Dufrene and Eric Daigle. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Daigle, Sr. Kevin Uzee, Robert Lombas, Charles Julia, Elmo Picot, Eddie Carr, Walter Williams, and Rene Folse. Relatives, friends and former employees of ODECO and CNG Producing Co. are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 9AM until 1PM. A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of his life will be held in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1PM with Fr. Patrick Wattigny officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
