Adam T. Chartier Sr.

Adam T. Chartier, Sr. passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Shirley Meyers Chartier, the love of his life for 65 1/2 years. Father of Patricia Pelas (Dale), Adam T. Chartier, Jr. (Carla), Gwendolyn Dufrene (Curt), Gary Chartier (Lisa) and Arleen Chartier (Ben Vaughn). Son of the late Alva Buras Chartier and Theodore M. Chartier. Brother of Allen and Carl Chartier, and the late Thomas Chartier, Eve Guidry, Edward "Jerry" Chartier and Joseph Chartier. Grandfather of Chris, Paula, Adam (Yvonne), Kristy, Jennifer (Ryan), Kimberly (Garen), Jessica, Alycia (Shane), Ember (Bradley), Jourdon, Amelia (Brandon), Abby (Glynn), Andre (Brianna), Allison and the late Phillip, Jr., and Arlan. Also survived by 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who he looked upon as his own children. Godfather of Vanette Meaux Daigle. He was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. Relatives and friends of the family, also, members of the former VFW Post #6402, parishioners of St. Patrick Catholic Church, employees of Freeport Sulphur and Port Sulphur Ace Hardware are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, May 5, 2017 from 6pm until 10pm at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA and again on Saturday morning from 9am until 11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Port Sulphur.
