Zoe Ella Marie Dodgen passed away on March 26, 2021. Beloved wife to the late John Larry Dodgen for over 63 years. Mother to George L Dodgen (Connie Versen), John W. Dodgen (Kim), Patty Z. Dodgen (Raymond Galloway) and the late Lt. Gen. Larry J. Dodgen, Ret. (Leslie). Grandmother of Christopher, John Ross, Blaine Dodgen, Amie Chaisson Lyons, and Jamie Chaisson Savoie. Great-grandmother of Brennan and Landon Savoie, Bryce Lyons and Sean Dodgen. Daughter of the late Louisa Hebert Danos and Webb Danos. Sister of Lorita (Tee) Trosclair, the late Evensia (Yvonne) Rogers, and the late Hazel Thibodeaux. Godmother to Candy R. Fitch and the late Gail D. Brudnork and seven nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dodgen was a native of Galliano, LA and resident of Harvey, LA for the past 79 years. In addition to home making responsibilities, Mrs. Dodgen was a seamstress for over 50 years. During this time, she exhibited a unique talent for design and completion of Bridal Gowns and Dresses for many families, becoming well known for her work with over 75 weddings and other special events. Mrs. Dodgen was also extremely active in civic works, a member of the Shrines’ Daughters of the Desert, a member of Les Amis du Codofil French Club, a Charter Member of the West Jefferson Hospital Auxiliary, the Jefferson Parish Junior Deputies, worker for the Heart Fund, Cripple Children’s Hospital, United Fund, Boy Scouts of America, Jefferson Parish Rangers and a member of the Marrero Athletic Booster Club, Volunteer Worker for the Marrero-Harvey Playground, Delegate to the Jefferson Parish P.T.A. Council and Marrero P.T.A. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on April 5, 2021 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open from 9 AM until service time. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are required to attend.
