Willie Dewey Matherne, age 78, passed away on January 28, 2022. Loving husband of the late Carolyn Bedgood Matherne and father of the late Scott Allen Matherne. Willie was born on December 19, 1943 in Thibodeaux, LA to the late Dewey Eli Matherne and the late Alverta Dufrene Matherne. Brother of Ronald Matherne (Audrey), Miriam Abadie (Herbert), Opal Dufrene (Gerald), Berdie Mahan (Thomas), Fay Aucoin (Harry), the late Susan Adams (Fred), the late Deborah Tregle (Michael), and the late Wade Matherne. Willie is also survived by Mike and Kellie Puglise along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Willie was a contractor for Plaster and Latte and also owned his own business, Matherne’s Plaster. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO Blvd., in Marrero on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:30PM. Visitation will begin at 11AM.
