William Alexander Faurie

William Alexander Faurie passed away on November 9, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Gremillion Faurie. Father David P. Faurie, Wanda F. Earley (Paul), Mark G. Faurie, Mary Faurie Long (Thomas), and Marie Danielle F. Richard (Andrew). Grandfather of Melissa Nuss Campbell (Patrick), Michael Seghers Nuss II, Amanda Ricardo (Alan), Michael Earley (Shannon), Heather Donnow Cranford (Mike), Brett A. Long (Amy), Daniel W. Long, and Christopher Leniek (Farrell). Great-grandfather of Jackson, Greyson, Tallulah, Malcolm, Evangeline, Amelia Rose, Alana, William, Catherine Jane, Dakota, Remy, and Dominic. Son of the late Charles John Baptist Faurie and Carrie Bernice Young Faurie. Brother of the late Nelda Vivirito (late Warren) and Rita Gillies. Age 94 years, a native of Drumright, OK and resident of Gretna, LA. William served in the United States Marine Corps from 1944 until honorably discharged in 1946. He was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and attended Tulane University. He was a sales representative for various apparel companies until retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and volunteered with the men’s club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. Per his wishes a private memorial was held and interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
