Virginia Jacomine Kirby – 1938 - 2021

Virginia Jacomine Kirby passed peacefully on March 12, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Virginia is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Kirby; second husband, Mason; her beloved parents, Renee and Amelia Jacomine; brother, Ralph and sister Rachel Jacomine Bulot. She is survived by her sister, Doris Jacomine Thomas; her children Karen Kirby Lasseigne and Kerry William Kirby (Melinda); grandchildren, Jeremy, Keturah, Ryan, Keralynn, and Emma and her great grandson, Ethan. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish and was active at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Port Sulphur and the community. She worked in accounting for an oil distribution company and local bank, and enjoyed playing Pictionary and bingo in her free time. Virginia has spent the last 8-years near family in Phoenix where she fought the good fight against Parkinson’s disease. The family is grateful for the professional help from Barrow’s Muhammad Ali Center, Christian Care Nursing Center, and Cigna Medical Group. Due to the Covid Pandemic, family and friends will be provided with a livestream video of the visitation and Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to ChristianCare.org. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 22 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28698 LA-23, Port Sulphur, LA from 9:30AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Port Sulphur. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
