Vernon Anthony Diaz

October 11, 1935 — November 24, 2017

Vernon Anthony Diaz passed away peacefully on November 24, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Vivian Jesse Diaz and loving fiancé of 15 years to Kathleen White. Father of Vernon Andrew Diaz (Cindy), Vicky Cassard (Keith) and Roxanne Kliendorf. Grandfather of Ashley, Charles, Nathan, Rebekah and Bethany. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Madelyn Manuel Diaz along with several brothers and sisters. Survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Vernon served his country in the U.S. Navy and later retired from First National Bank of Commerce as a banker in their Trust Department. He was a Life Member of the Avondale Vol. Fire Department, serving as President and Treasurer. He was a longtime leader with Boy Scout Troop 392 and a devout member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where he was Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Legion of Mary.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale.
