Theodore “Ted” Mathew Scarabin passed away peacefully at Ochsner Westbank Hospital on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the age 55. He was a resident of Gretna, Louisiana for 20 years and originally a resident of Buras, Louisiana. He is the beloved son of Janie Franicevich Scarabin and the late Theodore A. Scarabin. Brother of Scott A. Scarabin (Sheila). Father of Josh Nolen (Ivy). Grandfather of Wyatt, Waylon, and Avery Nolen, Brenden Smith and Chance Ritchie. Uncle of Mathew, Richie and Harper Scarabin. Nephew of Sally Frankovich (Vlaho), Mallory Mays (Gary), Patricia Arkinson (John), Margaret Boudreaux (Wayne), Dodie Scarabin (Randy), and Sam Scarabin (Vincent). He is survived by many cousins and friends. He loved his family dearly and loved to cook. He loved animals and especially his three dogs, Isis, Diamond and Sugar and his pet squirrel, BB. As a young boy, he also had a horse named Blaze. He won many awards while barrel racing. He had several hobbies such as yard work, wood working, and cooking just to name a few. He was a graduate of Buras High School, Class of 1984. He was a great athlete, football #67, baseball pitcher for the Buras Wildcats. He enjoyed cruising with his family. He was an avid football fan especially the Saints and Pelicans. He enjoyed his work as an oyster fisherman on the Two Sons. For many years, he was a boat captain for Crescent Pilots, River Ventures, Port Ship and Turn Services. He loved being on the water. For many years, he was the companion to Dana Daigrepont. Ted was a very colorful character; he lived life to the fullest. He did everything his way. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to his ICU Nurses, Michelle and Jane and to Dr. Pham, his Pulmonologist. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
