Sylvia Adams Phillips

Sylvia Adams Phillips went to meet her Lord and Master Jesus Christ on June 27, 2021 at 5:35AM. She was born physically on May 22, 1927 and born again spiritually in the summer of 1936. She has been a member to the First Baptist Church of Marrero for many years. Born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Harvey, LA all her life. She died looking forward to once again seeing her beloved husband of 48 ½ years, Henry Phillips, Sr. whom she married on December 9, 1944. Also, predeceased by her beloved son John Louis, mother Camille Bartolo Adams, father Birth Ernest Adams, brother Berth Ernest Adams, sister in law Carleen Adams, and daughter-in-law Connie Phillips. She is survived by her 2 sons, Wayne Gary and Henry Howard Jr., “Chief”, and one daughter in law Carolyn Phillips (the late John) who showed her so much love and care. Her nine grandchildren, Michelle, Erin, Jeremy, and Jill Phillips; Jynell Romero; Candie Fos; Chantel Phillips; Misti Rivers Belsome; and John Schroth, III. Nine great-grandchildren, two nephews the late Bert Adams and Keith Adams, niece Rhonda Latham, and cousins that she was so close to that were considered nieces and nephews. Sylvia enjoyed each day of her life and gave thanks to her Lord, the Living God, every day for all her blessings He bestowed on her. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Chapel at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11AM. Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 6PM until 9PM and again on Friday at 9AM until service time. Interment will follow the service immediately at Adams Cemetery in Barataria, LA where she will join her loving husband Henry, Sr., and her predeceased Adams and Phillips family members.
