Susana Barillas Maldonado

Susana Barillas Maldonado peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of the late George Barillas. Daughter of the late Juan Maldonado and Carmen Toledo Maldonado. Loving mother of Jorge Barillas, Sandra Salmeron (Julio), Harold Barillas (Jose) and Norma Barillas. Loving grandmother of Julio Salmeron, Jr. (Laura), Lissette Salmeron (Omar), Jorge Luis Barillas and Andy Barillas. Beloved great grandmother of Cynthia, Omar, Bianca, Briana, Lillia, Jaylon, Govanni, Elias, Julian and Jax. Sister of Rosalia Flores and the late Alfonso, Augusto, Angela, Olympia, Marina and Zoila. Susana is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was born in Guatemala City and was a resident of Gretna. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Notre Dame Hospice, Baton Rouge Hospice, Elizabeth, Lucy and Rosa for the love and care given to Susana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She touched many harts of those who she came in contact with. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday evening, February 7, 2019 from 6PM until 12 Midnight. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 8AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM.
