Steve D. Shelby, age 67, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021. Beloved husband of Vickie Shelby for over 46 years, and father of Heather Shelby Choquette (Jacques) and Nicholas Vann Shelby. Grandfather of Mackenzy Payge Choquette and Amelia Grace Choquette. Steve was born in Fort Meade, Maryland on February 26, 1954 to the late Bobby Gene Shelby and Joan Peters Shelby. Brother of Wesley Shelby (Esther) of Collierville, Tennessee and David Shelby (Sherri) of Bartlett, Tennessee. Steve is also survived by his nephews Matt Morat (Melissa), Jason Morat, Patrick Shelby (Sarah) and Brayden Shelby (Ellie); niece Charli Shelby Gonder (Morgan); along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mr. Shelby enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grand-daughters. He was a very hard working man and loved all of his employees at K-Mart. Everyone that knew him loved him dearly. The family would like to thank the Westwego Fire Department Company #1, Westwego Police Department, Westwego EMS, and Ochsner Medical Center for everything they have done. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1PM. Memorial visitation will begin at 10:30AM.
