Stephen "Stevie Ray" Brightbill

June 29, 1960 — November 1, 2017

Stephen “Stevie Ray” Brightbill passed away peacefully on November 1, 2017 at the age of 57 years. Beloved son of Joel A. Brightbill and Caryl Case Eager. Step-son of Mary Ruby Brightbill. Brother of Geri Lynn Brightbill. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Stevie Ray attended Slidell High School and graduated from West Jefferson High School, class of 1978. He worked for the City of Westwego Maintenance Department in the motor pool and wastewater plant and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. His true love and passion was building and drag racing cars and motorcycles. He was a regular at tracks in Baton Rouge, Gulfport and Belle Rose where he was manager. He was owner of Stevie Ray’s (formerly Tip’s) Bar, was a member of Marrero Lodge No. 479 F&AM and was formerly with the Westwego Vol. Fire Department.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Masonic Services will be conducted at 12 Noon and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated for 1 PM.
