Shirley Mae Roqueta

Shirley Mae Roqueta passed away peacefully on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 93. She was at her home surrounded by her three sons and daughter. Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Cesario Roqueta. She is survived by her four children with her former husband, John Barrois; David Barrios (Louise), Carolyn Iseri, Phillip Barrios (the late Barbara), and Steven Barrios (Melissa). She was the daughter of the late Luke and Olivia Ancalade; sister of Linda Olivas and Gail Salvadore and the late Sally Romena, Gloria Wickham, Hayes Ancalade, Luke Ancalade Jr., and Mickey Ancalade. Shirley was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She also has many nieces and nephews. Shirley had a love of cooking and eating, especially crabs, French music, Freddy Fender and Elvis were her favorites. She loved her family, friends and neighbors dearly. Mom will be dearly missed and remain in our hearts forever. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9am until 11am. All those attending must wear face coverings. Interment, Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, LA.
