On Thursday, January 7, 2021, Sheila Hingle Stevens, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 73. Sheila was born on March 19, 1947 in Port Sulphur, LA to Gurney and Annie Hingle. In December 1990, she married Carroll Stevens. They enjoyed many wonderful years together. Sheila worked for the Plaquemines Parish School Board as a bus driver for 20 years. She loved each and every one of the kids that rode her bus. She also worked for Sig’s Restaurant and Pivach’s in her early years. Sheila loved vacationing in the mountains and making memories with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Her world revolved around them and her dog, Buddy. She will be greatly missed by all of them. Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll, and her parents, Gurney and Annie. She is survived by her sons, James Richard (Mandy), Todd Richard (Sandra), her grandchildren, Kaylin Sonnier (Jeremy), Ashlyne’ Richard, Alayna Richard, and Anney Richard, and her great grandchildren, Hunter and Jaelyn Sonnier and Kason Cognevich. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur, LA on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 12noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 11am until 12noon. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Port Sulphur, LA. Everyone attending must wear masks.
