Shayne Michael Beier

Shayne Michael Beier entered into Heaven on October 23, 2017.
Born in New Orleans February 28, 1966, he also resided in Metairie, Louisiana and has lived in Covington Louisiana since 2008. Shayne attended Grace King High School in Metairie after which he was very proud to join the United States Navy serving as an E-4 (TM 3) while stationed in San Diego. He was briefly married to the former Kelly Fitzgerald at that time. In 1988, he returned home and in 1992 and 1993 attended the University of New Orleans and Delgado Community College. With his love for cooking, he trained at the Jefferson Technical Institute Culinary Arts School in 1995. Shayne is survived by his bereaved parents Sharon (Thomas) and Eric Beier; by his beloved sister and brother-in- law, Beth and Jimmy Fisackerly and his niece and nephew, Caroline and James Fisackerly III. Also survived by his uncle and aunt, Karl Beier and Sandy Martin; his uncle Frank Beier Jr; close cousins, Karli and Kory (Elizabeth) Beier and Heinrich (Rick), Hans (Erika), Frank III (Karen) Beier; many distant cousins and his Godmother, Patricia O'Toole.
Shayne faced many challenges in life since the age of 21 when he suffered brain damage in a motorcycle accident. He tried very hard to overcome the difficulties in dealing with his affliction. He was a trusting and generous soul with a big, caring and compassionate heart. And so appreciative of any kindness he was shown or received.
Shayne was eager to help in the family Boat Stuf business and always happy to run family errands or be of service whenever he was needed. He was very proud of completing the Mardi Gras Marathon across the Causeway at the age of 14 and of being a Sponsor in Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed riding his motor scooter and playing pool, but most of all the simple pleasure of being with family and friends.
Shayne also was personally spiritual, with a strong inner faith, loving and trusting in God and His Son Jesus Christ.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service officiated by Reverend Robert Malsbary that will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church, (Codifer at Phosphor in Metairie) at 12 noon. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. A private family burial will be held following the service.
