Sharon Matthews Jordan

On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Sharon Jeanette Matthews Jordan, loving wife and mother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 83. She was born July 25, 1939 to the late Verna Ellen Grams Matthews and the late Clifford Thomas Matthews in Alma, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Jimmy Ray Jordan, sister Bonnie Joyce Matthews Roach and her grandson, Christian Patrick Jordan. She is survived by her son John Kevin (Irma), daughter Cherry Ann, granddaughters Corin Tyler Jordan Hinyub (Greg), Chloe Nicole Jordan Kimel (Kyle) and great granddaughter MacKenzie Hope Hinyub.

Sharon was a long time member of Aurora United Methodist Church. She was active in the women’s group and always enjoyed getting together with friends for Bible studies and other activities.

Sharon was very talented and creative in many ways. She had a love for cake decorating and needlepoint on plastic canvas. But what she loved even more was being a wife, a mom and a Granny. She loved her family and poured herself into them. She was an excellent cook and baker and meals were always made from scratch with love! She will always be remembered for her loving heart, sweet smile and giving spirit. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 1:30PM in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 LAPALCO BLVD., in Marrero, LA.
