Selma "Red" Hazel Fountain Smith

Selma “Red” Hazel Fountain Smith entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Leroy Smith. Daughter of the late Leonard Fountain and Lorinza Cannette Fountain. Mother of Caren Smith Ponson (H.J.), Raymond “Pete” Smith (the late Geneve), Letha Smith Leleaux (the late Gary), Leonard “Lenny” Smith (Melanie), Donna Smith Toups and Wayne Fountain (Patricia). Survived by 22 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. Sister of the late Beatrice Hubbard, Bernice Fountain and Vernon Bird. Selma is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and was a resident of Algiers, LA for 54 years. She was a volunteer at Jo Ellen Smith Hospital for over 5 years. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:30PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 8AM until 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10AM.
