Salvador “Sammy” Barcelona passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 80. He was born in Alia, Sicily and immigrated to the United States at the age of 12. He was a resident of Marrero, LA. He was a retired electrician from Bollinger Quick Repair. He was a member of the Masonic Etoile Polaire Lodge No. 1. He is the beloved husband of Christine Sturm Barcelona. He is the loving father of Patricia Tranchina (James), Sally Barcelona, John “Myron” Barcelona (Shannon), Antonio “Tony” Barcelona (Mary), Sheridan “Bentley” Barcelona (Alicia), and Michelle Barcelona. He is the devoted grandfather of Janee’ Gongora (Antonio), Monique Tranchina, James Tranchina, Tyler Barcelona, Douglas Moody (Cindy), Antonio Barcelona, Jr., Jazmin Morozoff, Joshua Morozoff, Justin Barcelona (Bethany), Salvador Ryan Barcelona (Raeanne), and Nicholas Alexie. He also cherished 18 great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Virginia Abadie (Douglas), brother-in-law, Phillip Parfait. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Marie Barcellona, his sisters, Rosalie Jasper and Josephine Parfait, and his brother Antonio Barcellona. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 1pm.
