Ruth Ann Carter

Ruth Ann Carter, age 71, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was born in New Orleans on September 3, 1949, and was raised in River Ridge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth Dell Carter, and Arthur Caradog Carter. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Arthur Dell “Butch” Carter and Carolyn Ruth Carter. She is survived by her brother Michael Arthur Carter and sister-in-law Susan Frank Carter. Ruth Ann graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, CA in 1972 and resided in Palo Alto, California as a young adult working briefly for the San Francisco Chronicle and later working as a coordinator for the Bach Society in Monterey, California. For the last 30 years Ruth Ann has lived in River Ridge, LA. She was a long time employee of the Murphy Institute at Tulane University retiring just a couple of years ago. She was a lover of all animals, taking care of horses, dogs, and cats most of her life. She had a special ability to communicate and calm any frightened animal. Many stray and forgotten dogs and cats benefitted from her kind hearted love of all animals. A private interment will take place at Hope Mausoleum.
