Rudolph Patterson passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 70 years, Shirley Wallace Patterson; sons, William Michael Patterson, David Wayne Patterson (wife, Dawn), and James Allen Patterson (wife, Connie); daughters, Melinda Patterson Bergeron (husband, L.B.) and Terrie Patterson Jones (husband, Dwain); granddaughters, Taylor Jones Sanders (husband, Jesse), Maci Alyse Jones, Lisa Patterson Champagne (husband, Chad); grandsons, Clint Michael Patterson (wife, Dana), Colson Lee Mackey (fiancé, Jamie Scurlock), Chad Ryne Labasse (wife, Tiffany), James Tyler Patterson (wife, Hannah), and Brett Harold Patterson; great-grandsons, Dylan Michael Patterson, Tristen James Patterson, and Brady Allen Sanders; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Sanders; brother, James Patterson, along with numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd Patterson and Velma Ruth Smith Patterson; sister, Martha Ann Patterson Rankin, and grandson, Cody Allen Mackey.
Rudolph was born and raised in Eldorado, AR and worked for Lion Oil. In 1954, he was transferred to the Lion Oil plant in Luling, LA, which later became Monsanto. He was an avid sportsman, playing high school baseball and was an All State football player for the Eldorado High School Wildcats. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. As a talented woodworker, he carved decoys and built many wood projects. Rudolph was a member of First Baptist Church of Luling. He will be sadly missed.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 9am to 11am. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling.
