Rosabelle "Rosie" Landry Yuratich

August 2, 1921 — May 19, 2020

ROSABELLE (ROSIE) LANDRY YURATICH, age 98, passed away on May 19, 2020 in Palm Coast, FL. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Walter Joseph Yuratich. Mother of Sharon Yuratich Nida Johnson (Allen) of Tallahassee, FL and Dr. Paul Yuratich (Bernice) of Metairie, LA. Predeceased by her parents, the late Walter A. Landry and Lillie Girouard Landry of Port Sulphur, LA. She is also predeceased by her brothers, James, Phillip, Walter, Jr. and Harry, and sisters Evelyn Landry Bartlett and Betty Landry. Survived by grandchildren Kelsey Nida Kott (Adam) and Lawrence and Joseph Yuratich, 2 step-granddaughters, Jennifer (Sean) Huggard and Katherine (Will) Thompson and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom live in Colorado. Rosabelle was born in Broussard, LA, moved for a time to Freeport, TX, and ultimately to Port Sulphur where she and Walter made their home for 73 years until Hurricane Katrina changed their lives. They moved to Littleton, CO after the storm to be close to family. They both resided there until Walter passed away and Rosie could no longer live by herself. She has been a resident of Princeton Village Assisted
Living for over 4 years. Rosie was in the first graduation class of Port Sulphur High in 1939, attended business school in New Orleans, and became an Executive Secretary for Freeport Sulphur, working both in Grand Ecaille and in the Port Sulphur office for over 25 years. She, along with Walter, was a proud member of the 20 year ++ club. Rosabelle donated her time and secretarial skills to many local organizations and to St. Patrick’s church, where they were life-long members. Rosabelle’s greatest joy was her love of dancing and was seen rocking on the dance floor until the end.
There will be no service at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
