Ronald Brumfield Bridges

Ronald Brumfield Bridges, recently diagnosed with ALS, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Nell Hunt Bridges for 59 years. Father of Angela Jane Bridges Caletri (David) and Carlton Hunt Bridges. Son of the late Marjorie Denman Bridges and Hugh Frank Bridges. Brother of William Denman Bridges (Polly) and the late Franklin Bridges (Virginia). Grandfather of Jenna Lynn Caletri, Nicholas Bridges Caletri and Joseph Ronald Caletri. Great grandfather of Sophia Marie. Also survived by his canine companions, Jazz, Jay, and Missi. He graduated from McComb High School and LSU with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for several companies before forming his own consulting engineering company, Ron B. Bridges & Associates. He loved gardening and had the grandest vegetable garden in Algiers. He was Head Trustee of Aurora United Methodist Church for many years. He was an avid tennis player and a devoted member of the Kiwanis Club of Algiers, Aurora Garden Club, and the Westbank Boston Club. He loved spending time with his family and friends and everything LSU. He will be dearly missed by all. He was a native of McComb, MS and a resident of Algiers, LA for the past 50 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Aurora United Methodist Church, 3300 Eton, St. Algiers, LA on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until Funeral time. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
