Captain Rolle J. Ducote Jr.

January 30, 1953 — April 22, 2017

Captain Rolle J. “ Skipper” Ducote Jr. a resident of Algiers Point, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his father, Rolle J. Ducote Sr. He is beloved husband of 23 years of Elizabeth A. “Liz” Green Ducote. He is cherished son of Joyce Ducote. He is loving brother of Tony Ducote ( Mary Lou), Virginia “Ginger” Peeples, Alma Loyacano ( John). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A graduate of US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York and of Brother Martin High School. In the 1980s, he began his Marine Career cruising the Caribbean with the Merchant Marines. Rolle was Captain of Boomtown Casino, Ballays of New Orleans, Belle of Orleans, Players Isle Casino and Showboat Casino in Chicago. He was also an instructor of Marine Training at Houston Marine until the time of his death. Rolle, “Goodnight my Darlin’ Handsome Prince. I will love you always, your Beautiful Princess Liz.” Friends and family are invited to attend a Gathering and Celebration of Rolle’s Life on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
