Rodney Albert Ranson

September 15, 1928 — February 10, 2018

Rodney Albert Ranson passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 89. Beloved husband by first marriage to the late Lorraine “Mixie” DeRocha Ranson and by second marriage to the late Roberta P. Ranson. Loving father of Peggy Ranson Kemp (Phillip), Gay Ranson Gomez (Coonie), Vickie Ranson Whittle (Ken) and the late Ronnie Ranson. Son of the late Louise Thiele Ranson and Edwin R. Ranson. Brother of Albert Ranson and the late Richard Ranson, Edwin Ranson, Sr., Louis Ranson and Wesley Ranson. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Rodney, a graduate of St. Stanislaus High School, earned an Accounting Degree from Loyola University and worked for NOPSI/Entergy.
He was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Mandeville where he was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and an avid tennis player at Franco’s Athletic Club. He was a long-time member of the K of C Council of Algiers and, later, Mandeville. Rodney was also a new parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA 70058 on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Ranson to be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association www.lbda.org/donate .
