Robert A. "Bobby" Terry Jr.

Robert A. “Bobby” Terry, Jr. of River Ridge, Louisiana, entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the age of 57. Bobby passed away after a valiant short fight with cancer. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rose Sablan Terry of 8 years, and his beloved daughter, Franchesca Julianne Tojeno Basalo Terry of Metairie, LA. He was born March 12, 1962, in Marrero, Louisiana, son of the late Robert “Bob” Terry, Sr. of Harvey, LA and is survived by his mother, Mary Smack of Levittown, PA. and his aunt, Joy Lynn Best of Lafayette, LA. Bobby was a Loyal Husband, Giving Father, Wonderful Provider, Loving Son, Unique-Funny Older Brother and treasured company to all his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine “Kathy” Terry Meaux (Joseph); his stepmother, Maebelle Terry; his stepbrother, Donny Castagnetta; his stepsister, Wendy Coleman; and both of his cousins, Terry Best and John Best. Bobby’s memories and passion of football, basketball, baseball, golf, bowling, and travel will live on with his loving siblings, Cynthia “Cindy” Terry of Fort Worth, TX and Keith Terry of Laurel, MD. He will be missed greatly by his niece, Joy Lynn Meaux and nephews, Joseph Meaux (Kristin), Frank Trivett (Catie), Mark Trivett and Nicholas Coleman (Ashley); and his cousins, Edward Terry, Danny Terry, Bill Best, Kenneth Best, Michael Best; and many more loving family members. He was raised for the most part on the West Bank of New Orleans. He graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1980 and was a graduate of Delgado Junior College for electronics. Immediately following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a Tech Sgt. for four years in active duty then completed another 20 years of duty in the United States Air Force Reserve. Bobby’s worldwide travels consisted of 10 countries. He was particularly fond of all the countries in Asia as well as the Asian culture and people. After Bobby received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force active duty, he would embark on what would turn out to be a 22-year career at Valero St. Charles Refinery in Destrehan, LA with the Operations Department. Bobby was known by his employer and co-workers as a faithful and hard worker. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 beginning at 8:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM all at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
