Robert Lawrence Chamblee

January 14, 1936 — January 4, 2019

Robert Lawrence Chamblee passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Mary Crappel Chamblee. Father of Christopher Robert Chamblee and his wife, Paige and late daughter, Sakura. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Evelyn Ennis Chamblee and Lawrence Newton Chamblee. Also survived by other family members and friends.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Behrman High School and Auburn University. He worked as a planning and engineering consultant for the U.S. Air Force, and spent 10 years working for Boeing at NASA. He also worked on several projects in North Africa and the Middle East. In the early 1980’s, he was a planner and scheduler for the World’s Fair/Louisiana World Exposition. His skills eventually took him to the New Orleans Convention Center where he retired as Planning and Development Director. He was a rabid Auburn fan “WAR EAGLE!” He will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 9am to 11am. Services will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
