Richard Thomas Laurent Sr.

Richard Thomas “Popa” Laurent Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the age of 74 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Lisa Laurent Masson; his parents, Gerard Paul Laurent Sr. and Audrey Rita Manning Laurent; his brother, Gerard Paul Laurent Jr. He is the beloved husband of 55 years of Barbara Verdon Laurent. He is the loving father of Richard Laurent Jr. (Kelly), Audra Cutts (Polo), and Michael Laurent (Mandy). He is the devoted grandfather of Jordan Masson, Lauren Cutts, Madison Laurent, Jacob Cutts and Maklaine Laurent. He is the loving brother of Patricia Schneider, Kerry Laurent (Sue) and Ida Mae Manning (Peter). He is the loving brother-in- law of Sandra Laurent. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Richard was a longtime diesel mechanic in the trucking industry. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 27, 2018 all at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
