Richard Duffy Davis passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Davis for 32 years. Father of Shirleen Morreale (Barry, Sr.). Son of the late Hugh and Honoria Davis. Brother of Mary McKillop (George), John Davis (Janice), Robert Davis, Elizabeth Luca (Peter), Peter Davis (Janet), and the late Hugh Davis, Jr., and Michael Davis. Grandfather of Barry Morreale, Jr. Great
grandfather of Alexas Morreale, and Mason Morreale. Also survived by 24 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, all who loved and enjoyed him. Also survived by his canine companion, Spicy. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy for 28 years having received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, The Navy Commendation Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, The Meritorious Commendation Ribbon, The Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, The Vietnam Service Medal (6 campaigns) w/Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia, The Marine Force Combat Operations Insignia, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantary Medal w/Bronze E Star, The Vietnamese Cross of Gallantary w/Palm and Frame, The Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal w/Palm and Frame, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal amongst others. He retired from the Veterans Administration after 18 years of dedicated service. He was a native of Teaneck, N.J. and a resident of Harvey, LA for the past 32 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 9am. Interment, Biloxi National Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be held from 8am until 9am.
