Raywood Paul Primeaux passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:10am at West Jefferson Medical Center from complications of surgery. He was 77 years old. He was the beloved fiancé of Linda Mitchell Jenkins. Raywood was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Primeaux and the former Ozite Lynn Clostio. He was the brother of: Brenda Gail Primeaux Burley (Steve) of Arlington, TX and the late Edward Primeaux. He was the father of four: Clayton Ray Primeaux, April Marie P. Silver Dedman Davenport and the late Thomas Anthony Primeaux and Mark Joseph Primeaux. He was the grandfather of six: Cheyanne Madelyn Primeaux, Thomas Anthony Primeaux (Andrea), Melissa Marie Silver, Dawn Michelle Silver, Heather Ann Silver, and Eric Joseph Primeaux. He had four great-grandchildren: Nola Renee Primeaux, Aiden Joseph Primeaux, Leah Juliamarie McChristian, and coming in November, Johnathan Lee McChristian. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Raywood was a native of Kaplan, LA; longtime past resident of Port Sulphur, LA and Gretna, LA; and for the last 33 years a resident of Harvey, LA.
Raywood served in the United States Army. He worked for Freeport Sulphur, Intercoastal Trucking, Brown & Root, and Hobson Galvanizing. A special thanks to the staff of West Jefferson Medical Center - especially Dr. Rian Tannenbaum, Dr. James Ellis, Dr. Stephen LaGuardia, Dr. Charles Thomas, Dr. Wesley Bryan, and Dr. James Jenkins.
