Raymond J. Champagne

Raymond J. Champagne passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 67 years to Rose Bouvier Champagne. Father of their wonderful daughter, Raynell Dunham (Luis). Beloved grandfather of Ryan Dunham and Alec Davis (Storm). Great-grandfather of Rillian Davis and a baby girl due in September. Son of the late Martial Champagne and Leona Matherne Champagne. Brother of the late Enola Sisk, Annie Lytel, Mary Falcon, Virgie Orgeron, Doris Champagne, Earl Champagne, Nolan Champagne, Roland Champagne, Clarence Champagne, John Champagne, Warren Champagne and Msgr. Roy Champagne. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Raymond served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was a parishioner of St. Rosalie Catholic Church in Harvey and served as an usher. His therapy was making over 300 rosaries which he gave to family and friends. Raymond was an avid fan of all Tulane University sports. He was a member of the Ray Hester Booster Club and Greenbackers Booster Club. Raymond enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, especially Boure (Boo-ray). He will be sadly missed. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel.
