Raymond M. Ballay, Sr.

September 21, 1930 - February 6, 2022

Raymond M. Ballay, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 64 years to Betty Cothern Ballay. Loving and devoted father of Raymond Ballay, Jr. (Sandra) and Penny Longley (Thomas). Son of the late Antonia Treadway Ballay and Louis E. Ballay. Brother of the late Mildred Ballay, Mae B. Daunie, Louis E. Ballay, II and Lillian B. Spencer. Raymond is also survived by his loving Grandchildren, Jason, Kelley, Raymond III, Madison and Elizabeth as well as 11 Great Grandchildren. Raymond was a dedicated employee of Freeport Sulphur Company for over 40 years. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Senoia, Georgia. Raymond was enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Korean War and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved spending time with family, friends and grandchildren. His biggest passions were fishing and helping others in need. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 11AM until 1:30PM. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum, Port Sulphur, Louisiana.
