Ray Thomas Williamson

Ray Thomas Williamson entered into eternal rest unexpectedly June 2, 2021 at the age of 62. There was no inkling that on this particular Wednesday morning Ray would take flight; he was here, and then suddenly, he was gone. This much can be said: He left behind many broken hearts, among them his wife Susan Kliebert Williamson, his sister-in-law Judith Shaddinger, his brother-in-law Johnny Shaddinger, his nephew Josh Shaddinger, and many relatives and friends. Ray will also be missed by his beloved cats, both house cats and feral cats. Ray had great compassion for his furry friends and made sure they were loved and cared for. He was predeceased by his father Ray “Razor” T. Williamson, Sr., his mother Catherine Pizzolato Williamson, and his nephew John I. Shaddinger, III.
Ray graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1976 and attended L.S.U. in Baton Rouge. At a young age he began his career as an explosive technician working in his father’s company ESI. Later his father sold the company and Ray continued his career with the new owners for over 40 years. During that time Ray worked as a technician, a consultant, and a teacher. His analytical tech and attention to detail made Ray one of the most respected professionals in his field.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home 704 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Gretna, LA.
