Quinten James Knecht

Quinten J. Knecht, died on September 17, 2021 at the age of 78. He fought COVID-19 for five weeks but ultimately lost the battle. He was born in New Orleans, LA on March 2, 1943. Quinten was the head of his family in every way. He was a dedicated husband and father. He worked tirelessly everyday to provide for his family. He was the epitome of a provider. Because of this, his children never had to go without their mother at home.
Quinten was a dedicated servant of God. He was a member of EXCELeration Church for over 5 years where he was Baptized and gave his life to Christ.
Quinten’s passion was the great outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and a bit of archery. Fishing proved to be the one sport he would never let go of. He belonged to the Backlashers Bass Masters fishing club for over 20 years.
Quinten married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Bruno Knecht on June 22, 1963. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
He is preceded in death by his father, Exavier Henry Knecht, his grandmother Viola Lamers and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his mother Pearl R.K. Thompson, wife Brenda Knecht, sons Timmy Knecht, Shane Knecht (his wife Cindy Knecht) & Bryan Knecht, daughter Tracy K. Mauro, grandchildren Blake Mauro, Krystal Rodriguez, Corey Knecht, Joshua Knecht, Ayden Knecht, great-grandchildren Seraphina, Cayden, Audrey, Wren and Wyatt, his sister Beverly Spears, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial /celebration of his life will be held at EXCELeration Church, 7737 Belle Chasse Hwy, Belle Chasse, LA 70037 on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00am.
