Paul Joseph "PJ" Mandina died peacefully on June 13, 2018 at the age of 85. Paul is survived by his 5 children, Paul Jr., David (Donna) and Andrew (Bernice) Mandina, Cheryl (Ricky) Leblanc and Maria Mandina; 7 grandchildren, Damian (Cher), Chantel, Joel, Amber and Johnathan (Christy) Mandina, Megan Williams (Austin) and Alex LeBlanc; 3 great grandchildren, Braxton Couvillion, Dominic and Giuliana Mandina; and 3 beloved siblings, Tony Mandina, Annette Gustin, and Anne Marie Folk. He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Laura Saluta Mandina, and his cherished wife of 62 years Dolores Templete Mandina. Paul was born on March 26, 1933 in Shreveport, La to Anthony and Laura Mandina. He married Dolores Templet in 1954. The couple welcomed 5 children into their home and together they taught their children about life, compassion and respect. Paul was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, but most importantly a friend to everyone he met. Paul never met a stranger and always treated everyone with respect. Paul was a lover of life, people and music. He always had a smile or a joke to brighten someone’s day. Paul proudly served his country in the Korean War in active duty on the battle ship U.S.S. John A. Bole DD-755 while stationed in Korea. He was a life-long Catholic and supporter of his community (Belle Chasse, Louisiana) for 64 years. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday June 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA at 12:30pm.
