Patrick “P. J.” Rudolph, 86, while surrounded by his family, passed away at his home in Brooklyn, MS.
P. J. lived a blessed eighty-six years on this earth as a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He had the opportunity to take care of his family as an employee of Chevron Oil Company for many years then transitioned into owning and teaching his children how to run a dirt construction company. His retired years were filled with doing the things that brought him joy, which included affording many families the ability to have a home. His legacy will continue to live on through his beloved family, which was his life’s mission. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Thibodeaux Rudolph; a son, Rickey Joseph Rudolph; parents, Patrick, and Ida Rudolph; and a son-in-law, Hayward Achord.
He is survived by his son, David (Angela) Rudolph of Laurel, MS; three daughters, Gwen (Chris) Landry, Lisa Achord, both of Brooklyn, MS, Donna Rudolph (Peter Engman, Jr.) of Nederland, TX; a daughter-in-law, Ondine Rudolph of Hattiesburg, MS; a sister, Betty Helmer of Barataria, LA; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; companion and best friend, Viola “Vie” Stubbs of Harvey, LA.
Visitation for P. J. will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Harvey Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La. The funeral service will begin at 1:30pm and interment will immediately follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
