Patrick (Pat) Bergeron passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the age of 79. He fought a good fight this last month, but his health challenges proved too great. Pat was born in Thibodaux on St. Patrick’s Day in 1941 and later moved to Gretna, where he married his loving wife, Carol Lovell, and lived for many years. After retiring from Gator Supply, he fulfilled his dream and moved to Folsom to live in the country. Pat’s favorite hobby was participating in car shows and displaying his classic cars - a 1956 T-Bird and a 1962 Corvette. He also enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden, clearing his property, and improving his home. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Covington. Pat is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; their daughter, Tammy Bergeron Daigle and husband, Meric; and two grandsons, Cooper (Heather) and Austin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eula Mae and Murphy Bergeron, and his sister, Betty Jean Bergeron. Visitation will be held at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 3rd at 9:00 am until services begin at 10:00 am. Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask according to current COVID-19 safety protocol. Social distancing while indoors and out is also encouraged. Interment to follow at St. Eloi Cemetery, 1335 Bayou Dularge Road, Theriot, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Pat Bergeron to New Zion Baptist Church or woundedwarriorproject.org.
