Nelson Edwin Clayton

Nelson Edwin Clayton passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Alice Dufrene Clayton for 63 years. Father of Edwin Nelson Clayton II (Kristy), Alison Clayton Carter, and the late Alisha Clayton Rivero (Glenn). Son of the late Doris and Edgar Clayton. Brother of the late JoAnn Clayton Murla (George) and Donald Edgar Clayton (Stella). Grandfather of Lauren Schmitt, (Matthew), Christian Clayton, Cyle Clayton, Claire Clayton, Dustin Carter (Erin), and Amber Jo Carter. Great grandfather of Maddox, Leona, and Delilah. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his many hunting buddies at both fishing and hunting camps. He was a native of Sumrall, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA for 70 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10am until 12noon. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
