Nancy Legendre Toups

Nancy Legendre Toups, aka “Chief Justice” passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Louis L. Toups, Sr. for 50 years. Mother of Pam Strohmeyer (Scott) and Louis L. Toups Jr. Daughter of the late Alphonse and Eva Legendre. Sister of Joyce Naquin, Betty Breaux (Lester), Lloyd Legendre, Thelma Guillot and Beverly Gros. Grandmother of Mason Toups (Trisha), Hyacynth “Hydi” Strohmeyer, and Nathen Strohmeyer. Great grandmother of Harry James Toups. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the owner of Nancy’s Craft Shop. She was a volunteer at Immaculate Conception Catholic School, St. Michael’s Special School and various other causes. She enjoyed life with her husband, Louis “The Admiral” and she was a Jaycee Jane. She also enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp and crocheting and enjoyed trips to the casino with her sister, Thelma, and lunches and get togethers with her brothers and sisters. She was a native of Raceland, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 1pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6pm until 9pm and again on Thursday morning from 9am until 1pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
