Nancy Susan Blackwell Bourgeois

March 30, 1952 — July 7, 2021

Nancy Susan Blackwell Bourgeois passed away on July 7, 2021 in Great Falls, MT. She was born on March 30, 1952 in Hattiesburg, MS. At the age of 2, her family moved to Algiers, LA, where she grew up. She graduated from O. Perry Walker H.S. in 1972. She lived most of her life on the Westbank until 2014, when she moved away to Graham, WA and then Great Falls, MT to live with her oldest daughter and son-in-law until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Hundell and Jo Aline Cotten Blackwell, her second daughter, Melissa Anne Gordon, and her beloved husband, Ralph O’Neal Bourgeois. She leaves behind daughters Faye Adeline Gordon Rangitsch (son-in-law Gerald “Mike” Rangitsch), and Emily Louise Bourgeois, and sisters Jacaline Blackwell Fleming (the late George Fleming), sister Elizabeth Blackwell Griffin (Bert Griffin), sister Henrietta Blackwell Corley (the late Joe Corley), nieces Renee Fleming Viola, Rebecca Scaccia, and nephews Michael Fleming, Robert Fleming, and Joseph Corley. She also leaves behind her friend and ex-husband, Joe Gordon (wife Sybil Gordon, son Darryl Gordon), numerous cousins, extended family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and countless other lives she has touched over the years with her smile, hugs, and generous, loving heart.
She was a faithful member of the Westbank Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nancy was an extremely talented needleworker, always knitting, crocheting, quilting, or sewing something! She loved to research Genealogy/Family History, loved her many chihuahuas, and enjoyed being of service to others. She loved to laugh, sing, and socialize.
The family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to the staff at Beehive Homes of Great Falls, especially the Maple House staff, for taking such wonderful care of Nancy in her final months of life. She battled Lewy Body Alzheimer’s with such bravery and strength, and the family could not have taken care of Nancy without the dedication, patience, and love from the staff at Beehive Homes. She is in her Heavenly home now with her parents, husband Ralph, and daughter Melissa, and she still watches over us all from afar. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. “We love and miss you, Mom! -Faye and Emily”
