Murphy Jo Duhe

Murphy “Jo” Duhe, went to be with our Heavenly Father peacefully in her home on June 16, 2020 at the age of 79. She is survived by her husband Manuel Duhe, 3 daughters; Michelle Powell, Melissa Monroe, & Vanessa Gieseler and their spouses, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Jo’s devotion to her faith was inspiring and undeniable. When she passed, we lost a spiritual anchor here on earth, while heaven gained a faithful servant. She was a long-time resident of Gretna. She founded the Gretna Community Association and Gretna Prayer Dinner. She served on numerous projects being a selfless advocate for the community with a true passion.
Upon her passing, we did not just lose our mother or grandmother, but lost the very foundation to our family. A true matron and dedicated wife until her last day. Memorial services will be private for immediate family and she will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park. Should anyone feel compelled to send donations, those would be welcomed at the food banks in your community, in her memory. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
