Muriel "Mae" Duplessis Demoll

Muriel “Mae” Duplessis Demoll passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Joseph Demoll. Mother of Lisa Scarlett (Sam) and Melissa Rouse (Casey). Grandmother of Misty, Brittany, and Loren (Adam). Great-grandmother of Nathan, Trae, Daymon, Keegan, and Orian. Sister of Dolores Duplessis, Ginger Newton (Al), the late Mary Blazio, Gloria Rodriguez, Cathy Duplessis (Billy), and Sidney Duplessis, Jr. Daughter of the late Sidney and Mable Ancalade Duplessis. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mae was born and raised in Triumph, LA and worked at the Buras High School for many years. She babysat practically everyone in the lower parish. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and was known for her jambalaya, gumbo, potato salad and stuffed bell peppers. Mae was a loving and caring person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and would call anyone her friend, seeing the best in everyone. Mae touched the hearts of so many during her life. While her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 9am to 11am. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras.
